Flexible, student friendly, creative and pioneering

We approached UFM / NorvaNivel to design and collaborate on a modern teaching and learning environment to be called the iLearn Centre. Our intention was to pioneer 21st century learning at Marian College. This was to be the first space of its kind in our school and we wanted an open learning environment as we were moving to a BYOD program and would be changing our teaching and learning styles to suit.

The school purpose built a large space and we then engaged UFM / NorvaNivel to offer designs and options for us. The space needed to be open plan with distinct learning zones and needed to accommodate up to 200 students at a time. We wanted the design to be bright, colourful and student friendly with flexibility and function.

Our iLearn Centre has now been open for almost 3 years and has been a great success. The flexible design of the space and furniture has meant that we are more than pleased with our final results. On a daily basis iLearn is used by students from years 7 to 12 and both the students and teachers love coming to iLearn. The quality of NorvaNivel’s furniture is proven by the fact that it all still looks fairly new after constant use 6 periods per day, with not one item needing to be replaced at this stage.

As with all pioneering ideas, things do not always go exactly to plan and we were learning as we went, but their service was unwavering and they fulfilled their obligation and always delivered exactly what we wanted and needed. Over the years we have built up a great working relationship together and I continue to call on them when we need their help or to order new items and would highly recommend them to others in the future.
